FESTIVALS
Chantal was band member with the Grammy-nominated group Zap Mama (2003 - 2007), working alongside multi-award winning artists such as Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, and Tania Maria. She features in the French movie Essaye Moi (alongside Grammy award-winner Lizz Wright, 2007), and as bassist/vocalist on the Zap Mama albums Ancestry in Progress (2004) and Super Moon (2007). Among other albums, Chantal is bassist on South African vocalist Lisa Bauer’s album Finding A New Way (SAMA-nominated Best South Africa Jazz album, 2009).
Chantal holds celebrated performances at the North Sea Jazz Festival, (Holland), Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel), Montreux Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles), WOMAD (Glasgow/New Zealand/London), Blue Note (Japan), Makhanda Jazz Festival, Blue Note Festival (Belgium), Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz Festival, Imbokoda Jazz Festival, Pop Idols (Belgium 2003-2004), among other concerts.
